to the u.s. embassy yesterday. the bomb killed a turkish security guard. alabama's dade county sheriff tells his team has been in constant communication with the man holding a 5-year-old boy hostage in an underground bunker, the man identified as jim dykes allowed police to send down coloring books, crayons and medication to the boy. he killed the bus driver before taking the boy hostage. a murderer is back behind bars after walking out of the jail in chicago. he was on the run for three days before he was captured. he was serving a 60-year murder sentence in an in prison when he was transferred to chicago to face a drug charge. the charge was dropped and he was supposed to return to indiana to serve out the rest of the sentence. but instead, he was let go. a follower of charles manson, may be released from prison. his name is bruce davis, he was sent to prison for his role in the manson family killing. parole was recommended for davis, but now it's up to jerry brown to give final approval. brown has 30 days to decide. >>> the usual roar of subway trains in new york, replaced by the so

in u.s. history is dead. 38-year-old chris kyle was killed with 35-year-old chad littlefield at a gun range near ft. worth, texas, of the man accused of the killing has been identified as eddie ray routh. he's now in custody facing two counts of capital murder. number two in alabama where police are keeping contact with a man at the center of a hostage standoff. jimmy lee dikes holding a 5-year-old boy in his underground bunker. it is now the sixth day of the standoff. he allowed police to deliver comfort items for the young boy like potato chips and toys. >>> a man accused of raping and killing an indian student on a new delhi bus pleaded not guilty. it sparked mass protests and marked changes against sex crimes. the defendants could face the death penalty. their trial starts tuesday. a sixth attacker is a juvenile and will be tried separately. number for the man who said he was jumped by grammy winner chris brown won't press charges or even sue. rising r & b start frank ocean said on his facebook page, he will choose sanity and drop the matter. it was a fight over a parking space at

on the shooting death of a former navy s.e.a.l. known as the deadliest sniper in u.s. history. 38-year-old chris kyle was killed yesterday along with a second man at a gun range near ft. worth, texas. these are pictures of kyle taken from the security company he founded after leaving the navy. the gunman accused of killing kyle has been identified as eddie ray routh. he is in custody facing two counts of capital murder. earlier i spoke with one of kyle's friends, jason kos, about the man he called a war hero. >> he and a friend took a marine that was suffering from ptsd to a gun range to shoot and as a way that he always did giving back and, you know, it was certainly him taking his time to help, again, help war heroes. >> he had quite a reputation in the field as one of the most lethal snipers out there. how did he handle that? >> you know, he viewed, chris viewed it as his job and he was protecting his brothers, frankly. he as a man was quite contrary to that because he was incredibly loving father and charismatic and really caring person. so, it's quite a contrast from what he did as his job

's the u.s. senate, the democrats are holding solid, there's not a dissenting voice among democrats about chuck hagel's corn firmation as pentagon chief. what could republicans do? they could filibuster, i hear no signals that that's going to happen. i do not think that opposing the president's choice for a cabinet position is something that republicans want to fight with a filibuster. that's heavy artillery, i'm not sure they want to do, but they will voice their displeasure on the floor. most observers watching this think you're likely to see chuck hagel as the next defense secretary. >> if panetta doesn't serve up the red meat republicans want, could that hold up hagel's confirmation? >> he was out of office during benghazi, what did hold it up, there were republicans who said, until we get the current defense secretary who was around during bengha benghazi, down here in front of these committees, we're not going to confirm chuck hagel. >> what does this mean for the push for gun control measures? >> i think what we can say, watching the president from the time of the new town connecti
